This week we have over 300 youth and their leaders joining Emmanuel for Serve. This is a week long service project where we shine God's light in our city. On the second night, the speaker Sid Koop shared about how we need to have the identity of a servant. He shared a story about how one of his kids was fascinated with skateboarding and said "I'm a skater" Sid then corrected him, "No you are a servant who skates." We are not defined by our pursuits, but rather as beloved children and servants of God. This is good to remember. We must let our priority for service define us and define how we do everything else we do. We are not first musicians, or doctors or teachers or ball players. We are servants who use the gifts, passions, talents, resources and moments for God.
